Bozeman Bike Kitchen Newsletter - June 3rd, 2010

Good Economic News

Bozeman Bike KitchenThe Bozeman Bike Kitchen is doing well in these tough economic times thanks to a number of factors. We are a small organization run entirely by volunteers, we operate with very low overhead, and we reuse and recycle again and again. Most importantly however we have a generous community supporting us.

This year we had wonderful help from Refuge, the sustainable building center. We have ongoing support in ways large and small from Summit Bike & Ski and Bangtail Bikes. We also received two grants. The first of our grants was from New Belgium Brewing Company, an employee-owned company that grants funds to various organizations that help individuals "joyously embrace a sustainable lifestyle". The second grant we received was from the Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club and will help us make a significant purchase of new and specialized tools necessary for us to function as a full-fledged bicycle repair facility. These were our first successful grant applications; we are humbled and inspired by the support. So please support your local bicycle club, thank a GVBC board member if you know one, and if you're lucky enough to be of age, enjoy a tasty bottle of Fat Tire!
